Aditya Dhar Apologises After Dhurandhar 2 Premiere Delays, Kannada and Malayalam Shows Cancelled
Mumbai, India — Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has issued a public apology after the much-anticipated premiere of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge faced unexpected delays and cancellations across several regions.
The film's rollout encountered technical and logistical issues during its initial screenings, leading to major disruptions. In particular, the Kannada and Malayalam versions of the film could not be screened as scheduled on opening evening, leaving many fans disappointed despite high expectations and strong advance bookings.
Addressing the situation, Dhar expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to audiences. He acknowledged the emotional investment of fans and assured them that the team is working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible so that viewers can experience the film without further disruptions.
Reports indicate that the delays were largely due to last-minute technical glitches and content delivery problems affecting multiple language versions. While Hindi shows went ahead as planned in several locations, screenings in regional languages were either postponed or cancelled, particularly in southern markets.
The disruptions also impacted theatres in key cities, where some shows were delayed or scrapped altogether. In response, the makers and exhibitors have offered alternatives, including rescheduled screenings and refunds for affected audiences.
Despite the initial hiccups, the film has still managed to generate significant buzz, with expectations of a strong box office performance once screenings stabilize. The sequel, starring Ranveer Singh, has been one of the most awaited releases of the year and is set for a wide release across multiple languages.
