Dubai Civil Defence Unveils Cutting-Edge Firefighting Robot at Intersec 2026
Dubai Civil Defence has unveiled a high-tech firefighting robot at Intersec 2026, the world’s leading security and safety trade fair. The advanced robot is designed to support human firefighters in hazardous environments, marking a significant leap in the emirate's emergency response capabilities and commitment to public safety.
A Powerful New Tool for Dangerous Missions
The centerpiece of the demonstration is a smart firefighting robot capable of pumping 40 litres of water per second and projecting a powerful stream up to 60 metres away. Its high-pressure cannon can target flames in areas that are inaccessible or too dangerous for human crews, such as collapsing buildings, industrial fires, or smoke-filled tunnels.
Reducing Risk and Enhancing Operational Reach
The primary goal is to reduce risk to firefighters and improve mission effectiveness. The robot can be remotely operated from a safe distance, entering volatile zones ahead of crews to suppress fires and relay real-time visual and thermal data. This allows for better situational awareness and strategic planning before personnel are deployed.
Part of a Broader Tech Showcase at Intersec 2026
Intersec 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre featured over 1,200 exhibitors from 60+ countries. Alongside the firefighting robot, Dubai Civil Defence displayed other innovations like robotic "fire-dog" units and specialized aviation fire trucks, highlighting a comprehensive shift towards automation and AI in emergency services.
Integrating into Dubai's Smart Safety Ecosystem
This robot is part of Dubai's broader strategy to integrate AI and predictive analytics into public safety. Recent initiatives include an AI Research Lab with Dubai AI Campus to develop intelligent fire prevention tools and smart uniforms with medical chips for first responders.
