Dubai International Airport Launches Ticketless E-Wallet Parking Across All Terminals
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is revolutionizing passenger convenience by launching a fully ticketless e-wallet parking system across all terminals. Starting January 22, 2026, drivers will no longer need physical tickets or cash, as payments are automatically deducted via the Salik e-wallet, streamlining the airport experience for millions.
A 10-Year Digital Partnership
This major upgrade is the result of a landmark 10-year agreement between Dubai Airports and Salik Company PJSC, Dubai’s road toll operator. The deal, signed by senior leadership including Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, integrates Salik’s payment platform into DXB’s parking infrastructure, covering approximately 7,400 spaces across Terminals 1, 2, 3, and the Cargo Mega Terminal.
How It Works: Seamless Entry and Exit
The system is designed for maximum ease:
- Ticketless Entry: Cameras capture your license plate upon entry—no need to take a ticket.
- Automatic Payment: Upon exit, the parking fee is automatically charged to your linked Salik e-wallet account.
- Wide Compatibility: With over 4.7 million vehicles already linked to Salik in the UAE, the transition is seamless for most drivers.
This eliminates queues at payment kiosks, reduces congestion at exit barriers, and minimizes vehicle idling, contributing to smoother airport traffic flow.
Part of Dubai's Broader Smart Mobility Vision
The initiative is a key component of Dubai’s smart city strategy, extending digital payment solutions from roads to airport facilities. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, emphasized that parking is a critical passenger touchpoint, and digitizing it enhances the overall travel journey.
Salik has been expanding its e-wallet beyond tolls, partnering with private parking operators across the city. The DXB rollout is its most high-profile deployment yet, setting a new benchmark for contactless, efficient urban mobility.

Enhanced Passenger Experience and Future Outlook
For travelers, the benefits are clear: no lost tickets, no cash hassles, and faster exits. This move follows other DXB innovations like the QR-based “Greet & Go” pickup service, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to a fully integrated, tech-enabled travel ecosystem.
As DXB continues to handle growing passenger numbers, such digital transformations are crucial for maintaining efficiency and customer satisfaction. The ticketless parking system not only modernizes a routine process but also solidifies Dubai’s position as a global leader in smart transportation and digital innovation.
