Vivek Oberoi Says Dubai Businesses Thriving Despite Israel–Iran Conflict, Continues Shooting for ‘Spirit’
Mumbai/Dubai — Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has spoken about the situation in Dubai amid rising tensions in the Middle East due to the ongoing conflict involving Israel and Iran. The actor, who also runs several business ventures in Dubai, said that despite concerns about instability in the region, the city continues to function strongly and businesses are adapting to the circumstances.
In a recent interaction, Oberoi dismissed the idea that Dubai's economy or business environment has been severely affected by the conflict. According to him, the reality on the ground is very different from the perception many people have while watching global news coverage.
The actor explained that Dubai remains vibrant and active, with markets and offices operating with strong energy. He said the city's business community is resilient and capable of adjusting quickly to changing situations. Oberoi noted that companies there are not merely surviving during the current geopolitical tensions but are evolving and continuing to grow.
Oberoi compared the situation to a proverb, saying that external storms do not disturb those who are deeply rooted. He emphasized that Dubai's economic structure and strong governance allow the city to remain stable even when the broader region faces challenges. According to him, the confidence and determination within the business community are visible in everyday activities across the city.
Apart from his entrepreneurial pursuits, the actor is also busy with his film career. Oberoi is currently in India shooting for the upcoming film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film stars Prabhas in the lead role alongside Triptii Dimri, with Oberoi playing a key part in the project.
"Spirit" is an action thriller centred on an honest but troubled police officer who becomes involved in a dangerous mission to dismantle a global crime syndicate. The film is expected to be one of the biggest upcoming Indian releases and will be released in multiple languages for a global audience.
Despite balancing film commitments with business ventures, Oberoi has managed to build a significant entrepreneurial portfolio over the years. His investments span sectors such as luxury real estate, hospitality, jewellery and start-ups, many of which are based in Dubai and other international markets.
