Lara Dutta Returns to Mumbai After Dubai Ordeal: ‘Feared It Could Be My Last Message’

Mumbai, India — Bollywood actress Lara Dutta has safely returned to Mumbai with her daughter after being stranded in Dubai for several days amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The actress shared that the experience was frightening, revealing that she had posted an emotional video online because she feared it "could have been my last message."

Lara Dutta had been in Dubai along with her daughter Saira Bhupathi when the conflict in the Middle East intensified, leading to anxiety among residents and disruptions to flights in the region. The actress, who spends considerable time in the UAE due to family commitments, had travelled there for professional work when the situation suddenly worsened.

During the tense period, Dutta shared an emotional video on social media describing what she and her daughter were experiencing. In the video, she spoke about hearing loud explosions and seeing fighter jets in the sky, which created an atmosphere of uncertainty and fear. The actress later said she decided to upload the video because she genuinely did not know what might happen next.

According to Dutta, the sudden sounds of blasts and military activity around the city were deeply unsettling. At one point, while she was filming inside a studio, she reportedly heard loud explosions and rushed outside, where she could see missiles being intercepted in the sky. The incident left her shaken and worried about the safety of her family.

In her video message, the actress admitted that the last few days had been extremely stressful. She described hearing jets flying overhead and loud booms that shook the windows and doors of her home. Although she said the environment felt tense, she clarified that she never felt directly unsafe and believed authorities were doing their best to ensure the safety of residents.

Dutta also expressed gratitude to the government of the United Arab Emirates, saying officials had taken strong measures to protect people living in the country. She noted that residents from different nationalities were being looked after and reassured during the uncertain period.

At the same time, she admitted that both adults and children were feeling anxious due to the ongoing developments in the region. For this reason, she began exploring ways to return to India as soon as possible.

After days of uncertainty and difficulty finding available flights, Lara Dutta and her daughter were finally able to travel back to Mumbai. Their safe return brought relief to fans and friends in the film industry who had been concerned about their situation.

The actress later reflected on the experience and said it reminded her how unpredictable global events can be. She also emphasised that no civilians should have to live in fear or be caught in the middle of geopolitical conflicts.

Dutta was not the only public figure affected by the crisis. Several travellers and celebrities found themselves stranded in parts of the Gulf region as flight schedules were disrupted due to security concerns. The situation caused widespread anxiety among tourists and expatriates waiting for flights back home.

For Lara Dutta, the ordeal turned into a deeply emotional experience. While she expressed relief at finally being back in India, the actress said the incident had made her reflect on the fragility of everyday life and the importance of peace.
