Kaltham Alshamsi, a representative from the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the event organizer, sheds light on the extensive planning involving over a hundred dedicated employees. The fruition of ideas during testing nights brings a sense of fulfillment to the team.
“Narratives Unveiled: Past and Future in Drone Imagery”
The nightly spectacle unfolds at 8 pm, starting with an image of a book opening to reveal a symbolic pearl—a representation of Dubai. Paying homage to the UAE’s pearl diving history, the drone show takes a journey back in time before seamlessly transitioning to salute the city’s future.

Alshamsi discusses the challenges in translating mental images into reality, emphasizing the need for extensive planning and occasional revisions. This year’s drone show unfolds at Skydive Dubai, resembling a miniature airport, with meticulous arrangements starting three hours before each performance.

Following the drone show, a brilliant fireworks display at 9 pm adds another layer of spectacle. Various colored pyrotechnics light up the night against the backdrop of Ain Dubai.

The drone show takes place at 8 pm and 10 pm, with the fireworks display at 9 pm. Running until January 14, the shows offer breathtaking views from vantage points such as Bluewaters Island and JBR, allowing spectators to immerse themselves in the DSF’s grandeur.
