Al Ain Border Land custom centres in Abu Dhabi are set to witness a transformative upgrade, integrating state-of-the-art technology to boost efficiency and security. Spearheaded by the General Administration of Abu Dhabi Customs, the project has introduced advanced inspection devices, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and rapid non-stop scanning technology.
Strategic Deployment at Key Customs Centres
The pivotal Khatm Al Shiklah and Mezyad customs centres, strategically positioned on the UAE-Oman border, are at the forefront of this technological overhaul. Seven cutting-edge X-ray scanning devices, recognized among the most advanced globally, have been deployed. Additionally, two central control and operation rooms have been established to ensure seamless oversight and management of the inspection devices.
Objectives: Streamlining, Fortifying, and Optimizing: Al Ain Border
The overarching goals of this initiative include streamlining customs processes for swift and efficient passage, fortifying security measures, and optimizing trade routes. The rapid non-stop scanning technology boasts an impressive capacity, capable of handling up to 100 trucks, 150 tourist vehicles, and 150 buses per hour.

A noteworthy aspect of this project is the incorporation of modern operating systems into the inspection devices, marking a pioneering implementation in the UAE. This technological advancement signifies a significant leap forward in the region’s customs infrastructure, promising heightened efficiency and security in land customs operations.
