Intense Fog In the early hours of Thursday, a surge in emergency calls inundated the Dubai Police, reaching a total of 2,841 between 5 am and 10 am. The spike in calls was attributed to severely reduced road visibility caused by dense fog, leading to the simultaneous handling of 51 traffic accidents by authorities.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, the director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, issued a reminder to motorists about the significance of staying vigilant during changing road-weather conditions. Al Mazrouei also stressed the importance of cyclists and e-scooter riders wearing reflective jackets for increased visibility. Fog-related accidents, as highlighted by authorities, can lead to severe consequences, including fatalities, injuries, and material losses due to inadequate distancing between vehicles.

Authorities provided a set of key recommendations for motorists:
