UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation will handle disputes involving Dh50,000 or less, concerning companies, workers in the private sector, domestic workers, and recruitment agencies. Final executive decisions will be issued.

Comprehensive Coverage This decision encompasses disputes related to non-compliance with prior amicable settlement decisions, regardless of the claimed amount. The aim is to enhance efficiency, save time, and expedite the process for claimants to access their entitlements.

Alignment with Legislative Amendments: UAE Ministry

Incorporating Federal Decree-Laws These changes are in line with amendments introduced through Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2023, modifying provisions of Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 and Federal Decree-Law No. 21 of 2023 concerning employment relationships and domestic workers, respectively.

Judicial Recourse Under the updated mechanism, disputing parties have the option to file lawsuits before the Court of Appeals within 15 working days of receiving the Ministry’s decision. The court schedules a hearing within three working days.

Standard Procedures and Beyond: UAE Ministry

Continued Amicable Settlement Efforts For disputes exceeding Dh50,000, the Ministry will proceed with standard procedures, seeking amicable settlements. Unsuccessful cases will be referred to the relevant court for resolution within a maximum of 15 working days.

Enhanced Resolution Process These amendments aim to expedite the resolution of labor complaints, promoting compliance with legal obligations among workers, employers, and recruitment agencies. Simultaneously, they contribute to reducing the number of irregular workers.
