In a notable announcement, the Ministry of Human Resources declared Monday, January 1, 2024, as a public holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE. This decision offers private sector workers the prospect of an extended weekend to usher in the new year.

Federal Government Employees Also Enjoy New Year Holiday

Simultaneously, an advisory shared on Instagram confirmed the New Year holiday for federal government employees. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources officially designates January 1, Monday, as a holiday for federal government workers.

Anticipated Public Holidays in 2024: Private Sector Employees

As per the recently released list of public holidays by the country’s Cabinet, UAE residents can look forward to a total of at least 13 public holidays in 2024. Notably, four of these official occasions hold the potential for extended weekends, with the longest break extending over six days.
