Following the relocation of the Shiva temple in Bur Dubai to Jebel Ali, Khaleej Times explored the symbolic transition and the hope it signifies for worshippers entering the year 2024. Narasimhamurthy expressed satisfaction in managing the diverse queues and ensuring the contentment of all devotees during the successful day.

Efforts for Smooth Queues and Safety Measures: Jebel Ali Temple

Narasimhamurthy highlighted the meticulous efforts to handle various queues, including those for bachelors, families, and a specialized queue for individuals aged 80 and above, persons with disabilities (PODs), pregnant women, and mothers with infants. He emphasized safety as a top priority, with a consistent flow of 1,800-2,000 people per hour throughout the day.

Significant Days and Attendance Metrics: Jebel Ali Temple 

The Hindu Temple Dubai experiences several significant days throughout the year, with January 1 being one of the highlights. On average, the temple welcomes 3,000 to 4,000 worshippers from Monday to Friday, escalating to approximately 6,000 on Saturdays, 8,000 on Sundays, and peaking at an average of 12,000 attendees on weekends.

Relocation Reception and Community Sentiments

While the relocation of the temple stirred emotions within the community, many devotees at the new Jebel Ali site welcomed the move. Challenges related to parking and crowd management at the old temple location prompted the shift, with worshippers praising the spacious and ornate environment of the new temple.

Devotees shared their positive experiences, citing the beauty and connection they felt within the new temple. Visitors, both long-time residents and newcomers, praised the government for providing a magnificent and spacious place for spiritual gatherings.

Narasimhamurthy emphasized the temple’s inclusive nature, attracting individuals from over 40-50 different nationalities. He mentioned that, on average, the temple receives seven to eight tour buses daily, becoming a sought-after destination for tourists. The temple’s doors remain open to all, irrespective of nationality or faith, further enhancing its role as a cultural and spiritual hub.
