Gaza A six-year-old child, flown in from the besieged Gaza Strip for medical treatment in the UAE, has tragically lost the fight against an advanced stage of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) revealed that the young patient faced severe complications during the course of treatment.
Urgent Medical Attention
Suffering from multiple health issues, the child was swiftly transferred to a specialized medical center upon arrival in the UAE. Despite concerted efforts, the child’s condition worsened, leading to an unfortunate outcome.
Condolences from the Ministry: GazaÂ
Expressing deep sympathy, the ministry issued a statement extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
Initiative by UAE President
The child was part of a larger initiative spurred by UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who directed the bringing of 1,000 children to the country for treatment. This compassionate effort also included the offer to treat 1,000 cancer patients in UAE hospitals, responding to the healthcare crisis caused by continuous bombings in Gaza.
Continued Relief Efforts
In a collaborative effort, a Khaleej Times team accompanied medical volunteers to Al Arish airport in Egypt last month, facilitating the transportation of sick and injured individuals to the UAE. This marked the second batch of patients brought to the country for immediate medical care, emphasizing the swift admission to various hospitals.
Ongoing Support
Amid ongoing relief efforts, the arrival of the fourth group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients in the UAE on Saturday underscores the nation’s commitment to providing essential medical support to those affected.
