Elderly Patients In a somber announcement, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) revealed the passing of two elderly cancer patients from Gaza, both grappling with advanced-stage cancer and critical health conditions. The patients, aged 58 and 63, faced various health complications, as disclosed by MoHAP, which did not disclose their gender.
Evacuation and Urgent Medical Treatment
Part of the humanitarian initiative led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two elderly patients were among the hundreds evacuated from the Gaza Strip. Upon their arrival in the UAE, they were swiftly transferred to specialized healthcare facilities to receive urgent medical treatment.
Deteriorating Health Despite Best Efforts: Elderly Patients
Despite the dedicated efforts of medical professionals, the health of these patients deteriorated, ultimately leading to their demise. MoHAP expressed heartfelt condolences, praying “to Allah Almighty to rest their souls in eternal peace and to grant their families patience and solace.”
Recent Loss and Ongoing Commitment
Last week, a 58-year-old male patient from Gaza also passed away in the UAE due to cardiac arrest. MoHAP, emphasizing its ongoing commitment, reiterated providing the highest standard of healthcare services to all patients and injured individuals arriving in the country, irrespective of the severity of their conditions.
Previous Tragedy: Young Patient’s Demise
Highlighting a previous tragedy, a six-year-old Palestinian boy from Gaza battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia lost his life on December 6. MoHAP did not disclose the identities of either the 58-year-old patient or the young boy, underscoring the organization’s commitment to comprehensive healthcare services.
