Key Moments at COP28

The COP28 conference initiated with an early success as nations reached an agreement to establish a “loss and damage” fund for countries devastated by natural disasters. However, the ensuing two weeks promise challenging negotiations on critical climate issues, spanning the future of oil, gas, and coal to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Over 140 leaders are slated to address delegates during the conference, covering a diverse range of topics. Britain’s King Charles III will lead the addresses, followed by leaders from nations such as Brazil, Kenya, and Tonga. The agenda will not only focus on the climate crisis but also incorporate discussions on the conflict in Gaza.
