In a tragic incident near Etihad Mall, two lives were lost in a fatal car accident involving a speeding sports car, as disclosed by Dubai Police on Wednesday.

Details of the Incident

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, revealed that the incident occurred on Tuesday at 11:55 pm. While the nationality of the victims remained undisclosed, it was confirmed that a man and a woman were the unfortunate casualties.

Reckless Speeding Leads to Catastrophe: Bridge Near Mall

Al Mazrouei stated that the driver’s reckless over-speeding resulted in the car skidding at the bridge’s curve. The vehicle collided with the curb and concrete barrier before plunging off the bridge to the street below.

Tragic Aftermath

“Due to the excessive speed, the car continued in the opposite direction on the lower street until it came to rest on the median strip, where it caught fire, resulting in the deaths of the driver and a woman accompanying him,” he added.

Upon receiving the distress call, authorities, including police and rescuers, promptly arrived at the scene. Traffic patrols were deployed to manage the flow of traffic, secure the accident site, and facilitate the arrival of ambulances and rescue vehicles.
