At the Dubai Creek and Deira Wharfage Customs Centre, the specialized task force ‘Siyaj’ took charge of the operation. Leveraging state-of-the-art Periscope technology, designed for examining confined spaces, the team meticulously inspected the vessel. The technology provided high-resolution images even in darkness, aiding in the detection of contraband. The cleverly concealed narcotics, specifically hashish, were found hidden within the ship’s wheelhouse.

Rashed Alsuwaidi, Acting Director of Maritime Customs Centers, underscored the effectiveness of unique devices such as the rapid container inspection device and the world’s first X-ray scanning device for heavy and light vehicles. These technologies played a crucial role in detecting substances of this nature and ensuring the success of the operation.
