Exploration The picturesque town of Hatta has once again blossomed into a haven for honey enthusiasts with the kickoff of the 8th edition of the Hatta Honey Festival. Running until December 31, this annual event has evolved into a sought-after destination for those craving the authentic taste of locally produced honey.

A total of 60 local farms have actively joined the festivities, inviting visitors to savor the delectable offerings of their high-quality honey. The festival places a special focus on the UAE’s unique Sidr and Samr honey, originating from the sweet nectar of Sidr and Samr plants’ flowers.

Attendees can explore a diverse array of honey varieties, each showcasing its distinctive flavor profile. Beyond the tastings, the festival serves as an educational platform, providing insights into the nuances of different honey types. As visitors enter each stall, they are warmly greeted with a spoonful of pure honey.

Tradition and Exploration Unveiled

Rare Mountain Honey from Jebel Jais

Beekeepers from across the UAE have brought nearly 100 kilograms of honey to the festival, including the prized mountain honey. Crafted without human intervention, this honey is collected from the foothills of Jebel Jais, offering attendees a rare opportunity to savor and purchase this distinct variety.

Empowering Aspiring Beekeepers

Aspiring beekeepers have a unique chance to kickstart their endeavors by purchasing queen bees, essential leaders in bee colonies crucial for honey production. This addition to the festival allows budding beekeepers to contribute to the fascinating world of honey production.

The Dubai Municipality ensures the highest standards of quality with a dedicated testing center at the festival. Every stall undergoes rigorous testing to guarantee the purity and excellence of the honey. The festival concludes with the announcement of winners, adding a competitive edge. The top-performing honey producer stands to win Dh5,000 as the grand prize.

Event Details and Transportation: Exploration 

Running from 10 am to 10 pm at Hatta Hall, the Hatta Honey Festival offers a perfect blend of tradition, exploration, and family fun. For convenient transportation, attendees can board the RTA Hatta Express Bus from Dubai Mall to Hatta Bus station every two hours starting from 7 am, with a fare of Dh25.
